100 Football Photos for Press Freedom with Agence France-Presse

Support Reporters Without Borders, buy the book of photographs published to mark the World Cup

After a book last year about the Tour de France cycling race, Reporters Without Borders brought out one about football, with 100 colour photos - taken by Agence France-Presse (AFP) journalists - aimed at photography and football fans and all those who passionately followed the World Cup matches.

AFP joins Reporters Without Borders to show the dimensions of this worldwide fervour, as seen on the pitch and the terraces, with fans chanting their team’s praises and players expressing triumph and anger.

Those who buy the book will see why they and so many others love football and are thrilled watching it.

All the 8.90 euros sale proceeds go to Reporters Without Borders to help us continue our daily work of defending press freedom around the world.

Last year was the bloodiest in a decade for journalists, with 63 killed. Reporters Without Borders constantly exposes the enemies of press freedom and materially supports the families of journalists killed or imprisoned. We can do our work with total independence thanks to the sale of books like this one. That is, thanks to you.

Former French football star Michel Platini has supported us by writing a preface to the book.

The cover and all the photos, which are free of copyright, can be downloaded from our website www.rsf.org (media downloads).
